CONROE, TX — A meeting with Vice President-elect Mike Pence capped off two hectic weeks for U.S. Rep. Kevin Brady that included back-and-forth visits in Houston and Washington, D.C.as they prepare for President-elect Donald Trump to take office in January.
Brady, who chairs the House Ways and Means Committee, met with Pence and members of Trump’s transition team on how the Ways and Means Committee will deliver on the President-elect’s economic growth priorities.
“I am leading our team to ensure we are ready to hit the ground running on President-elect Trump’s top priorities,” Brady said in a statement.
The meeting came less than a week after Brady called the committee back to Washington from their Christmas break to hammer out economic priorities that included a bold tax reform plan, and remedies to Obamacare.

The committee members met for two days at the Library of Congress last week for for intense discussions on Obamacare and the tax code.
The discussions with the Ways and Means Committee, and Pence will be presented to the transition team who are working on their first 100-day priority list, Brady said, and he’s confident that tax reform and Obamacare repeal will be on that list.
“…we made important progress on policies that will ultimately replace our broken tax code and repeal and replace Obamacare,” Brady said. “We’ve got a big, consequential year ahead of us and I am so proud that my committee’s work will directly improve the lives of all Texans.”
